All India Annual Art Exhibition in Mumbai

The All India Annual Art Exhibition to be held at The Jehangir Art Gallery Mumbai from 23rd Jan to 29th Jan 2008.Every year the Art society of India organised the exhibition to promote Art and Artists of our country.

The Art society of India as its name suggests is of Indian origin and conceptualized by the Masters of those days to promote Indian Art and Culture.The artists with the independent minds opted to have their own society with with Indian Art and Culture.Shri G S Haldankar, Raosaheb M V Dhurandhar, Shri S M Parandekar and other artists were those great Founders of the Art society of India.Later many great artist joined them and society got its status as Society and was also recognized by Lalit Kala Academy.

The Art society of India represents that unique Indianness in its formation as well as in its continuation, which has diversities of class, casts, culture, languages but has religion only one, that is ART itself.Society is having the bright history of being the only institution of its kind in Mumbai for the last 88 yearsto carry out the activitiesfor the promotion of Art and Artists.
